Creation is all part of the process we go through on a daily basis as artists.  We are influenced by art created before us and we try to leave our mark and individuality in the artwork we leave behind……….

I was honored and humble to be placed on the schedule for exhibitions in the gallery of WCU January 2015.  I thought about the show and wanted to challenge my photographic style.  Collaboration came to mind.  Rhoda Kahler, a ceramic artist was my first choice.  The question of how to merge two distinct and separate mediums was our initial concern.  Trying to think outside the box, I remembered a project created back in 1986 when 200 photojournalists set out across America to capture the life of a nation on film in a single day.  “A Day In The Life of America” was the brainstorm of Rick Smolan and David Elliot Cohen.  Why not try this in cities?  Not to give away too much information but to entice and intrigue your thoughts, a perfect storm is brewing.

“24-7project” – is two women artists photographing and imprinting for 24 hours in 7 American cities.   This is what you will see.  Come follow us along this journey.
